The Grandview Puts a Lid on Summer With a Labor Day Shrimp Boil

And why I haven’t stopped thinking about my meal at Arvada’s only Southern-comfort inspired restaurant.

Chef Jeremy Wolgamott of The Grandview is cooking up a day filled with Southern specials to send off summer in the right way. On Monday, September 7, celebrate Labor Day with a low country shrimp boil and South Carolina-style punch cocktails from open to close.

From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the shrimp boil will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early to ensure there is enough shrimp to go around.

Located in Olde Town Arvada, The Grandview opened earlier this year, transforming a former dive bar into a sweet and Southern new restaurant built on community, family and comfort.

Wolgamott was raised in Denver, and is known for his time at Bistro Vendôme. After spending 14 years in New Orleans, he decided it was time to bring the taste of the South to Denver in a fresh, innovative and authentic way.

As the only Southern restaurant in the area, Wolgamott’s mission includes supporting local farmers and providers. The restaurant is closed on Sundays, so he is often spending his time at the Arvada Farmers Market to source his weekly ingredients used to whip up the items on the menu from scratch.

The Curio Cabinet visited The Grandview earlier this summer, and we haven’t stopped thinking about the meal that was fresh, full of flavor, and was an array of fixings we could not get anywhere else in the area.

@grandview_tavern is bringing southern comfort to Olde Town Arvada and we can’t get enough. What was once a dive bar is now a historic gathering place built on family, friendship and of course great food. The warm and welcoming staff is truly special and we are still dreaming about the heirloom tomatoes and peach cobbler 🍅 #southernfoodincolorado #oldetownarvada #restaurantsindenver #newrestaurantalert #thegrandviewtavern

From the addicting Hush Puppies to the fresh and flavorful Fried Rainbow Trout, you can’t go wrong with anything on The Grandview’s menu. Wolgamott’s attention to detail within each dish is clear, and it also shows up in the friendliness of the staff.

Pro tip: don’t leave without trying the Peach Cobbler, a version of a dish we all know and love with a cornbread crust. You will be thinking about it for months, trust us.

The cocktail program is a perfect pairing to the fresh and innovative menu, with a spicy margarita that we have been dreaming about since the first sip.

We can’t think of a better way to close out the summer than with good food, a great ambiance and surrounded by a team dedicated to making your experience at The Grandview unforgettable.
